ABOUT THIS ARTWORK: SHANGRI-LA -9
As my wife and I celebrated our anniversary we decided to embark on a memorable vacation opting for an Airbnb experience unlike any other. Our destination? A private yacht docked in Beaufort North Carolina. From the moment we stepped aboard the couple who owned the yacht welcomed us with warmth and hospitality. Their excitement to share their love for sailing with us was palpable and we knew we were in for an unforgettable adventure. Our journey began as we set sail from Beaufort towards the majestic Cape Lookout Lighthouse. The gentle sway of the yacht and the soothing sound of the waves created a sense of tranquility that enveloped us as we cruised along the coast. As we made our way towards our destination the couple told us stories of their own adventures at sea regaling us with tales of distant shores and breathtaking sunsets. We couldnt help but be swept away by their passion for sailing and deep connection to the ocean. Upon reaching Cape Lookout Lighthouse we dropped anchor and indulged in a delicious meal of burgers cooked onboard. With the sun high in the sky we couldnt resist the temptation to take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters surrounding us diving off the side of the yacht and immersing ourselves in the cool embrace of the ocean. As the day wore on we snapped countless images of the yacht gliding gracefully through the water capturing memories we would cherish for years. But perhaps the most magical moment came as we watched the sun dip below the horizon painting the sky in shades of pink and orange as we cruised back toward Beaufort. As the day drew to a close and we bid farewell to our gracious hosts we couldnt help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience such a magical day on the water. Our anniversary vacation had been nothing short of extraordinary and we knew that it was a memory that would stay with us forever.
